The 5 best tips (and teas) for your sleep routine

Just before going to sleep, send that email, check Insta or binge The Handmaid's Tale from your bed. After a day full of Zoom calls, obligations and little time for yourself, this is not the best way to unwind. But we're only human, because we really know how important a good sleep routine is. In this blog, therefore, five tips that will make your body & mind happy. With our Frank tea in the supporting role!
Sleep routine and tea: five tips
Following a sleep routine may be just as big a game changer as having a morning routine. Where you want to start your day from rest, this also applies to the end of your day. A regular bedtime routine can greatly improve the quality of your sleep. And sleeping better means more energy, focus and happiness during your day. Sounds like worth it, right?
Tip 1: Rhythm, baby!
Our first tip: try to go to bed around the same time every night, at least two hours after dinner. It takes some discipline, but your brain loves biorhythm.
Tip 2: No-screen policy
Screens before bedtime? Rather not. The blue light from your television, mobile or laptop suppresses the production of the sleep hormone melatonin. You know, that hormone that makes you tired. This makes it more difficult to fall asleep and your sleep is more restless. A no-screen policy may not be easy, but it is the very best. Banish your phone from your bedroom and buy a wake-up light or set your alarm clock on an old phone.
Tip 3: Create a quiet sleeping space
A bedroom with minimal stimuli works wonders. Dim the lights and keep the room tidy. You are still distracted by clutter and you sleep more restless. Put on some quiet music, read a book or listen to a beautiful sleep meditation. This way you get yourself in the mood for sleep.
Tip 4: Drink Frank
A cup of relaxing sleep tea can be a nice part of your sleep routine. Drinking caffeine before bed is a no-go; an herbal tea, on the other hand, is a 100% go. Many herbs in herbal teas have a calming effect. For example, mint and chamomile relax muscles.
Tip 5: Frank’s favo slaapthees
But which Frank teas work well as sleeping tea? We list them for you. All caffeine-free, but that makes sense. The honeybush in Honeybush verbena helps your body to relax and has a nice soft aftertaste. The added lemon and lemongrass provide a surprising note. Sleep teas boring? Not Frank's. Fennel as is a warming and spicy blend with fennel, which provides extra relaxation, and hints of nettle and licorice. Our Chamomile mint is soothing and refreshing at the same time. Chamomile calms your nervous system and, like fennel, relaxes muscles. Do you believe that herbal tea helps with sleep? Then it works better anyway. Sleep tight, Franksters!
