I drink tea a lot. I learnt it from my parents.
In my Masai culture, we prefer drinking tea with milk and sugar, to mask the bitter taste.
What you do is you mix some water with milk and tea leaves.
After boiling for 10 minutes, you add a bit of sugar.
Nowadays we have several flavors, but initially it was black, only black tea.
In an African setting, your mother cooks black tea in one single pot.
You have one, two, maybe six family members,
and you all drink tea together.
I can’t do without tea, I can’t do without it.
It’s addictive, I must drink tea every day.
I think we are used to drink tea, always.
Tea is relaxing.
The moment you drink tea, your mind relaxes.
And especially when you come home, after work.
Tea is the second export crop of our country.
I was told that our Kenyan tea is among the best teas we have in the world.
So, I would like to tell people to have a taste of our Kenyan tea:
I encourage people like you to take more tea.
You won’t regret it. It’s better than any other.
