Our impact in 2020

2020 has been a year like no other.

Our farmers persevered through the hardship of covid, and thanks to you drinking loooots of Frank about tea in your homes, we were able to grow the business with 40% this year despite losing 98% of our business in the beginning of the year.

This means that we reached more farmers than before, and got a little closer to our goal of lifting 50.000 tea farmers onto a living wage in 10 years.

Let’s break it down with some numbers..

While numbers are just numbers, it keeps us on track and aligned with our goals. Some highlights:

  • Since our Farmer Field Schools were on hold due to covid, we got creative and organized a business plan competition for the farmers in Kenya that make our African Breakfast and White Tips tea. The result: 130 farmers received a business grant to diversify their income from tea. Read more here.
  • We continued to process all our teas coming from Sri Lanka (80% of portfolio) with the use of renewable energy. This year our partner in Sri Lanka even earned climate positive certification by giving back more energy to the grit than is consumed.

Most of all, YOU MADE THIS HAPPEN! Every cup of Frank consumed, means more farmers reached. Only together we can put an end to the exploitation of tea farmers.
